Teaching and Learning

Salwa School is very well-resourced and includes leading edge IT which helps both pupils and teachers in meeting learning needs.

Interactive whiteboard technology is installed in every classroom and each child in Years 4,5 and 6 has a personal IPad.  This modern technology sits alongside more conventional resources.

Pupil progress is tracked carefully through ongoing teacher assessments as well as standardised external assessments.  This provides the teachers with detailed information on the continuous progress of all children, allowing the refinement of teaching and learning so as to meet the individual needs of all children more precisely. Lessons are delivered in such a way as to encourage active participation and therefore develop independent learners.

The school also works closely with the Salwa Garden Village compound management to develop community links to enhance teaching and learning opprotunities. Through these links the  school can access the swimming pools and extensive sports facilities on the compound.
